Chapter 3: Challenges you may face

Introduction

In the beginning, I needed just one minute a day away from the pain. I think you have to start small, start with finding just one minute away from the pain and then build up to more.

Trauma impacts people and their grief in unique ways, creating challenges typically not otherwise experienced. If you have experienced trauma, not only is your grief likely to be more intense, but it may also last longer than you would have expected. Sometimes, the effects can be far-reaching and impactful.

This chapter outlines some of the challenges difficulties you may encounter when facing both grief and trauma. It includes the experiences of others who have lived with these challenges and offers suggestions to help you cope.
