What if life is not getting better?

You may be stuck in your grief if:

  • Your intense periods of sadness and loneliness are not softening or becoming less frequent.
  • The time between feelings of intense grief is not increasing. 
If you are not starting to feel even small signs of improvement in the first six to nine months after the death, you may need additional assistance to cope with your grief.
