How do I recognize and respect my limits?

I get to the end of the day and don’t finish half of the things I wanted to do. Is it normal to be so tired?

There is only so much gas in our tank. Not completing everything on our to-do list is not failure; it is being human. Do not underestimate the emotional energy that grief demands. You may need to adjust your expectations of what you can reasonably accomplish. It is important to take care of yourself by, for example:

  • Asking others for help.
  • Making realistic plans.
  • Setting priorities.
  • Saying no to invitations and demands, if necessary.
